I still see too many Clinton supporters who have not yet joined forces with the Obama campaign to elect a democrat in November. We are now just a few short months from the convention, and less than five months from the election. In other words the general election campaign is on. We need the help of all our allies. We need your energy and your vote.
Please look at the alternative, and if you can't yet do it for Obama, then could you do it for our troops stuck in an endless hell in Iraq? We have sent them into a war that should have never been started to begin with. Still, however, they have done everything we have asked of them. Over 4000 have lost their lives there, and 10's of thousands more have lost limbs and suffered brain injuries, and likely will never be the same. How many more have to suffer these fates? Isn't it time we let them come home?
With Barack Obama leading this nation, along with a strong democratic House and Senate, we can end this war swiftly. We can bring them all home. On the other hand, John McCain has promised endless war, and you can believe him on that, because John McCain, along with his buddy Joe Lieberman, has never met a war he didn't like.
Not long ago Bruce Springstein updated a Vietnam era song imploring that we "Bring them home."
BRING THEM HOME (IF YOU LOVE YOUR UNCLE SAM)©
If you love this land of the free
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring them back from overseas
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
It will make the politicians sad, I know
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
They wanna tangle with their foe
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
They wanna test their grand theories
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
With the blood of you and me
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Now we'll give no more brave young lives
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
For the gleam in someone's eyes
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
(Hooo-hooo hooo-hooo)
(Hooo-hooo hooo-hooo)
The men will cheer and the boys will shout
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Yeah and we will all turn out
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
The church bells will ring with joy
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
To welcome our darlin' girls and boys
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
We will lift their voice and sound
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Yeah, when Johnny comes marching home
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring them back from overseas
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
If you love this land of the free
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring them back from overseas
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home
Bring 'em home, bring 'em home

It's a great song with a great message, but I don't want anyone to have to update anymore Vietnam era songs. and I don't want our children to have to update any Iraq era songs either. We need a change of courses in this country away from war, and that's why we need Barack Obama.
I know many good democrats are still hurting from the long primary battle, but our brave young soldiers are hurting a lot more. They need to come home safe and sound. We need to welcome them back home, and we need to get on with the business of repairing the damage that has been done.
The battle ahead will not be an easy one, we need everyone on board. Let's all stand together. Please do it for our troops, they have done enough for us.
